ETDE Contracting was founded in October 1971 and, according to Regional Director Dominic Callan, the company’s motivation remains the same today as it was then, namely to provide specialist solutions to their clients.
He says, “Over that 40 year period, industry has evolved in complexity from traditional engineering industries to specialist highly regulated sectors such as data centre, pharmaceutical and biotechnology.
Our service to all these sectors has remained consistent, that is, to provide the most cost effective, energy efficient solutions to services and process engineering. Through innovative design across many disciplines such as architectural, civil, mechanical, electrical, and process engineering, ETDE offer a complete project lifecycle solution construction and project management, commissioning, validation, service and maintenance, facility management.”
ETDE Contracting are a 100% owned subsidiary of ETDE, the energy and services division of the Bouygues Construction one of the largest construction companies in the world. With over 200 highly trained and qualified in house workforce ETDE deliver projects to clients through the UK.
Design innovation is central to all parts of the business. Through this ETDE can tailor a solution to meet the client’s budget, technical and special requirements.
Repeat business is important at ETDE Contracting, and many clients across a wide range of industries, including pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, nuclear/defence,
press halls, datacoms and universities/research expand their business with the help of an ETDE Contracting solution.
Dominic says, “When we engage with a client, our design and build solution allows us to very quickly provide cost certainty and an accurate project timescale. Through this integrated solution, we can accelerate the programme, and deliver value for money, fast track and high quality projects. This is of great benefit to many clients, as taking a product or service to market quicker allows a client to generate income earlier than expected.
An example of this is the new Virtus Data Centre in Enfield delivered by ETDE. With a fast-track solution, the existing building was transformed into a world-class data centre and handed over to the client to budget and on time.
As part of the Bouygues Group, ETDE Contracting can call upon any part of that Group for additional support as required. This has resulted in ETDE Contracting offering an international company to many blue chip Clients.
The majority of ETDE Contracting’s business is currently within the UK but, as Dominic explains, “If we are working with a multi-national client in the UK, we are often asked to assist with projects in other locations and indeed have done so.
