Aqua Blue Designs is a specialist designer and consultant within the field of wet leisure projects. Its remit covers any aspect of wet leisure building design and all of the specialist equipment within, ranging from pools and spa baths through to sauna and steam rooms, as well as the control of hygienic water, and heating and ventilation systems.
Aqua Blue Designs holds the whole thing together and over 25 years has worked in close co-operation with some major architects and developers, on everything from a small private pool hall to a 50 metre Olympic pool.
Current projects include the specialist wet leisure design for the largest new build destination health spa ever built in Britain, at the Lifehouse in Thorpe-le-Soken, Essex. This spa, which opens in December 2010, will offer an unforgettable total health spa experience, with an 18 metre deck level pool and five metre hydrotherapy pool, plus several other water experience pools. These are augmented by the latest in sauna, steam room and salt room features.
The stunningly crafted interiors of the building aim to create a totally relaxing environment.
The building utilises some very energy efficient systems, including a Heatstar air handling unit, balancing pool water and air temperature and controlling humidity, and photovoltaic panels; the facility will use a solar thermal hot water system. Some of these aspects and building design were the remit of companies.
Aqua Blue Designs is also currently designing a complete hydrotherapy pool and building to extend an existing physiotherapy clinic in Dorset.
Aqua Blue Designs has worked in 27 countries to date and gained 17 design awards.
