Of course, in tandem with every other company in the UK, Lord Hire Centres has been going through some pretty challenging times. However, it has still managed to push forward and evolve, recently
relocating two of its depots, Sunderland and Blaydon, to new and improved premises, providing improved access, parking and space. Providing a very personal service – with no telephone ‘options’ or call centres – Lord Hire Centres serves a broad portfolio of clients, from local authorities through to major contractors and associated sub-contractors. Many of the company’s customers are SMEs, because it is big enough to be capable but small enough to be flexible, with a service that can be relied upon. Geographically, it covers the whole area from North Yorkshire to the Scottish Borders, including the three industrial rivers of the area, the Tyne, Wear and Tees. Contractors from outside the region working in the North East regularly use its services.
In the current economic climate, Lord Hire Centres has no plans to expand outside of the North East, preferring to concentrate on its own existing service, portfolio and professionalism.
