With over 70 years of experience, British Gates & Timber brings unsurpassed quality and integrity to the joinery and manufacturing industry, and is noted for its total commitment to the highest standards of workmanship.
Offering both trade and retail customers throughout the UK and mainland Europe a broad portfolio of high quality ‘off the shelf’ and bespoke gates, doors, windows and associated joinery. British Gates & Timber is renowned for exceptional standards, in both construction and finish.
A large selection of timber gates, gate fittings, exterior and interior doors and windows are all within the company’s brief, indeed with its own joinery workshop, British Gates & Timber is well equipped for any bespoke joinery project.
The company offers a wide range of standard and bespoke gates and also doors. Entrance and field gates have been manufactured for over 70 years. The Yeoman Gate, for example, with its extended curved hanging stile and long diagonal brace, makes an attractive entrance as a single gate or it can be paired with the small Yeoman. It is available in a choice of treated softwood, Keruing and Iroko in a range of standard sizes from 900mm to 3,600mm. The Universal Gate features double cross-bracing, which gives it a distinctive diamond shape at the centre and makes it exceptionally strong. The Hunting gate is the smaller counterpart of the Universal.
The Kent Gate is simple but rigidly structured. It has its own characteristic charm and is suited to use as either an entrance gate or as a field gate. The Wealden gate stands out from the crowd with its distinctive vertical palisades. Available in sizes up to 2.4m only, this is ideal for the smaller entrance or equally charming as a pair.
Garden gates, such as the Arundel, Bodiam, Winchelsea, Saxon and Cottage, are available in standard sizes up to 1,500mm wide and 1,200mm high and come in a variety of designs such as shaped slats or palisades.
External and Internal doors are also on offer. The range includes a variety of attractive designs, both period and modern, providing something to enhance every home. Features such as the leaded lights, glass bullions, antique iron studs, hinges and grills, are integral parts of the designs and are included in the prices. Traditional Doors can usually be supplied in a choice of three timbers European Oak, Sapele and Iroko.
According to Sales Director Colin Tester, “The company has managed to attract and retain some of the most highly skilled people in the industry (from those who have been with the company for 25 years, through to young apprentices); the finished product is guaranteed to always be of the highest calibre. Little wonder therefore, that British Gates & Timber has over 20 quality-led stockists throughout the length and breadth of the UK, and has grown to become one of the largest and leading companies of its type in the country.”
