Novum Structures was founded in 1986 to offer systems-based structure and cladding solutions for complex architectural projects.

The Novum Group, with its headquarters in Wisconsin, USA, today has more than 250 employees at 16 worldwide locations, including Diss, Norfolk and Farnham, Surrey, in the UK. The UK company joined the Novum Group in 2007 as a specialist ETFE and tensile membrane contractor but has since expanded its capability to include complex structures and glazing systems. Today, the company specialises in steel, glass and membranes, offering a comprehensive range of services, from design development through to project execution.
As a Group, Novum has worked on more than 1,600 prestigious contracts in over 25 countries around the world, including the Mint Hotel at the Tower of London, the Dali Museum in St Petersburg, Florida and the Ottawa Conference Centre in Canada.
At the Mint Hotel in London, Novum were involved with the atrium, working closely with the architects to employ the standard Novum BK system. This nodal system allows for a single curved surface. The system was delivered to site and erected there.
In contrast, the structures for both the Ottawa Convention Centre and the Dali Museum were fabricated utilising a freeform structure employing the nodal system that enables the structure to be twisted in more planes. With this it is possible to create quite complex shapes. Any steelwork is fabricated at the Group’s works in Menomonee Falls, Milwaukee while the ETFE is made at Edersleben in Germany.
