Travis Perkins Group has launched a user friendly guide to the latest Part L legislation. The 36 page booklet is a concise guide to the lengthy building legislation on target and dwelling emissions rates. It provides an easy to understand guide to all requirements for compliance and how it affects building professionals.
Called the Part L Guide for Compliance, it shows building professionals how to achieve the legislative demands and decide on the best methods and materials to save energy needed to heat, cool, ventilate, light and supply hot water to new buildings.
The guide includes an explanation of SAP 2009 – the ‘whole house approach’ along with advice on how builders and others working in the industry can demonstrate compliance. There are also useful sections on compliance solutions, thermal performance tables of different materials and a useful glossary to explain new terminology.
Says Paul Joyner, Group Director of Sustainability, “Following the launch of Part L last year, we’ve seen a need for greater help and guidance for building professionals to really ensure successful implementation of the new requirements. This is an indispensable document for everyone in the industry, guiding them around sometimes complex, but essential legislation.
“The launch of this new guide is just one of a number of ways that we will be supporting our customers to enable them to meet the requirements for energy efficient homes.”
The Part L Guide for Compliance is available from all Travis Perkins, Keyline, City Plumbing Supplies and CCF branches. It can also be downloaded at www.travisperkinsplc.co.uk.
