Vibrancy and Passion in Design

SoVibrant is an independent, creative design consultancy based in Harrogate, Yorkshire. SoVibrant is unique in the design industry combining specialist services including interior design, workplace consultancy, brand, bespoke artwork and graphic design, 3D visualisation and animation.

Managing Director, Adam Atkinson says, “The broad range of services we offer allows us to deliver a truly diverse range of projects for our clients, saving money, rationalising the design process and crucially achieving the ‘Wow!’ factor across all facets of their organisation. Design has been my passion since childhood. When I was at university, I got a First for everything that I did in my first year and was then sponsored by W S Atkins on the condition that I joined them to run their Interior Design team. I then joined Work Interiors but they went under and I got some financial backing and started SoVibrant, picking up many of my former clients, as well as taking many of the designers with me.

“I did not want to be just another design company but, instead wanted to offer something completely different and unique. I wanted to offer interior design complete with bespoke articles and to develop brand design, thereby creating an image for my clients and providing pure, bespoke artwork. This, I am firmly convinced gives us a unique place in the interior design sector. We aim to provide the exterior design of the Company as well as the interior design of the building.”

One of the aspects that Adam enjoys tackling is working for those organisations that are having to face restructuring. “At Avon & Somerset Police, for example, we are working to develop a brand identity with the police. This is important when an organisation is going through a major upheaval and we can help to improve the communication in its broadest sense as we create that new identity for them, including taking it right through to interior design. The next USP is interior graphics, where we can use artwork to solve technical problems within buildings. To take a simple example, we can put attractive graphics on a glass door that become transparent as you approach them but it makes things safer.”

Another aspect that he highlights is that people are increasingly looking for that “Wow” factor for less money. Interior graphics is a very effective way of delivering a high input visual solution that, in turn, delivers an inherent message and value of any business in a cost effective way. He believes that it is possible to be ultra-competitive without compromising the quality of the design product. This stems, he feels, from the fact that by the very nature of the broad range of services on offer, the number of meetings that the client is involved is minimised and the cost is reduced.

SoVibrant worked with Royal Mail as they went through their reorganisation imparting the message and the relevant images to all staff and to customers about what was happening and what lay ahead. Similarly, SoVibrant did the entire global concept for the usage of graphics within the whole of HSBC’s property portfolio and helped to implant it in 88 countries around the world in a way that suited all of the different languages and cultures.
