2012 – A Year of celebration for Lyte Ladders & Towers

2012 is yet another year full of reasons to celebrate for Lyte Ladders & Towers. This year sees the celebration of 10 years of manufacturing aluminium mobile access towers in addition to the long standing manufacture of ladders and steps ladders.

Lowri Jones, Marketing Manager for Lyte says, “Ten years ago we expanded our operations from manufacturing step and extension ladders to include aluminium mobile access towers, which has been a great success story for us.

“We can also design, manufacture and supply a bespoke access towers to individual client specifications. For example, we recently delivered a twin access tower complete with connecting bridge for one of the largest bus companies in the UK. The company requested a tower that would allow a maintenance crew external access to a coach from both sides and the roof simultaneously.”

This year will also see the launch of a number of new ladder products so Lyte have a busy 2012 ahead.

Established in 1947, Lyte Ladders & Towers has developed an excellent reputation for manufacturing and supplying a large range of high quality domestic, trade and industrial steps, ladders, towers and bespoke access equipment to many large blue chip companies.

In 2010 Lyte moved operations from the factory in Ystradgynlais to the current site on Swansea Enterprise Park to enable the company to develop new manufacturing processes that will put the firm at the cutting edge of its industry. This includes a huge investment in new product development along with a push to expand further into the tower access equipment market.

Lyte Ladders & Towers have been manufacturing aluminium and glass fibre access equipment for over 60 years – equipment that has been used all over the world and for all sorts of reasons. One of the most famous expeditions in the world, the ascent to the summit of Mount Everest in May 1953, was completed by Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay and involved the use of a Lyte sectional aluminium ladder.

This was used to negotiate the crevasse they encountered and it’s believed the ladder is still there today. Many of Lyte’s products have been used in many box office films, as well as various popular television DIY and property programmes.

Lyte have an experienced sales and customer services team who are available to deal with all queries and can guide any customer through the process of buying the ‘correct tool for the job’.

Lyte are proud to be one of the few companies still producing products in the UK and have a highly skilled production department with an excellent team of engineers who successfully build their current product range to the highest quality as well as dealing with bespoke ladders and towers, upon request.

In an ever changing world of Health & Safety Lyte are fully aware of the issues our customers face and so, where relevant, all our products are certified to the relevant BSI standards. There is also a fully PASMA & LMA accredited training centre which gives customers and users of ladders and towers the opportunity to ensure they are fully competent to use the correct equipment safely.

With products being delivered throughout the UK Lyte have a fleet of vehicles ready to deliver as well as a reliable courier service.
