The brains behind some of professional sports and leisure’s most successful modern stadia have joined forces to deliver the arenas of the future through Stadia and Arena Consultancy UK.
Charles Rayner, former director of operations for Coventry’s £113m Ricoh Arena project and also playing a key role in the £35m Walkers Stadium at Leicester City and Leicester Tigers £14.5m Caterpillar Stand, has renewed his partnership with former Leicester chief executive Barrie Pierpoint to provide a rare and much-needed service.
“Our stadium and arena consultancy is a direct result of our vast experience,” says Rayner. “There are very few companies offering this full niche service with expert advice every step of the way.”
He explained they are ideally equipped to help venue clients in the process of developing a complete stadium or arena or improvements such as new stands and exhibition space or facilities.
“Such projects are potentially the making or breaking of sports and leisure organisations, particularly in these challenging economic times,” says Pierpoint, who helped develop Bradford City’s much-vaunted Valley Parade and was also involved in a ground project at Portsmouth after developing Leicester’s turnover from £2m to £24m in a 10-year period.
“The world is your oyster but the pitfalls can be treacherous and numerous. We have the combined real-life experience to work with clients from initial proposals to completion and beyond.
“There are endless different people and organisations you need to call upon for a major project – we provide the continuity, vision and overview to ensure it comes together both on time and on budget to fully meet a client’s aspirations.”
