Fiberweb Geosynthetics has this month added TRUCKPAVE heavy-duty permeable pavers to their portfolio of grass and ground reinforcement products. Previously marketed by Hoofmark Ltd*, the two pavers TRUCKPAVE 80 and TRUCKPAVE 100 complement Fiberweb’s existing product portfolio, offering customers a comprehensive choice of pavers.
Manufactured from recycled plastics, TRUCKPAVE cellular paving is robust, durable, lightweight and complies with the Health and Safety Executive’s manual handling limit, unlike heavier concrete alternatives.
TRUCKPAVE is the only recycled plastic paver recognized as being equipped to handle regular and heavy commercial vehicle traffic of up to 60t gross weight, and complies with the SLW60 load category.
The TRUCKPAVE products have a broad range of applications including: lorry, coach and car parks, emergency fire access roads, HGV service access routes, road-widening schemes, grass verges, footpaths, lay bys and loading areas.
For additionally stability, TRUCKPAVE 80 features a tongue and groove interlocking design, and both products are flexible and resistant to cracking unlike concrete alternatives. The system has no negative impact on the environment and is harmless to plant and wildlife. The pavers are available with anti-skid details for additional traction and can be ordered in non-standard colours, subject to order quantity.
TRUCKPAVE is easy to install, pavers should be set onto a well-prepared, free-draining, firm and a relatively level stone sub-base, then overlaid with a geotextile filter followed by coarse sand as a bedding layer for the pavers.
Once laid, the paver cells can be filled with a free-draining stone or a good, clean, friable topsoil and grass seed. The topsoil settlement that will occur within the paver cells will allow grass growth without direct impact from traffic.
