Interserve, the international support services and construction group, has been appointed as a Supply Chain Partner on all three of the Welsh Government’s ‘Designed for Life: Building for Wales 2’ Regional Frameworks.
These frameworks cover NHS building projects in Wales with construction values of between £4 million and £10 million, and are procured and managed by NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership-Facilities Services (formerly Welsh Health Estates).
To be appointed as a Supply Chain Partner on all three Regional Frameworks is a highly prestigious achievement for Interserve. It is testimony to the commonality of the Frameworks’ core principles and those of the company.
These principles include providing best value for money; offering integrated supply chains, collaborative working, continual improvement, performance management, effective risk management, open book working, fair payment and sustainable development; together with ensuring that local communities benefit from work done.
The three regions covered by the frameworks won by Interserve are South East Wales, including Aneurin Bevan LHB, Cardiff and Vale University LHB, Cwm Taf LHB, Powys Teaching LHB (South) and Velindre NHS Trust; South West Wales including Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University LHB and Hywel Dda LHB; and North Wales including Betsi Cadwaladr University LHB and Powys Teaching LHB (North).
The Welsh Ambulance Service NHS Trust and Public Health Wales, which are organisations operating on a national basis, will also be able to draw down services for projects falling within the value bands from whichever regional framework meets their geographical needs.
These Designed for Life: Building for Wales 2 appointments follow successes earlier last year for Interserve on SEWSCAP (South East Wales Schools Capital Working Group) and SWWRCF (South West Wales Regional Contractors Framework).
On SEWSCAP Interserve won places on both the lower (£1.5 million – £5 million) and top (£25 million – £100 million) value bands, demonstrating the flexibility and benefits of the company’s long established regional and national structure. On SWWRCF Interserve was appointed to Lot 2 East, covering Neath Port Talbot CBC and Swansea CC and Lot 3 West, covering Carmarthenshire CC and Pembrokeshire CC. Both lots cover construction projects with values between £3.5 million and £12 million.
