Based in Maidstone, Kent, Nova Construction & Civil Engineering boasts four decades of industry know-how and experience – a reassuring thought when considering your next major building and civil engineering partner.
Max and Wendy Diessner founded the original company in 1978, which led to the creation of the current company 21 years later, and Max continues to provide his considerable expertise in a consultancy capacity. Building on its strong foundation, the company has embraced new technologies such as cloud-based CRM software to manage the operation for the 21st century. The firm has built a solid reputation for delivering quality workmanship at competitive prices in the Maidstone and larger Kent region. “Our philosophy is to deliver work to the high standard our clients demand, for no more than originally quoted; variations aside,” said James Burrows, Operations Manager. “We believe there shouldn’t be any nasty surprises regarding quality or cost. In fact, we have reduced the price when a job has turned out to require less work than initially expected.”
An approved contractor to the NHS, Kent schools and Fire & Rescue Service; the company’s success has been built on partnering with tradesmen with a minimum of ten years’ experience who have a proven track record when it comes to delivering quality craftsmanship at a fair price.
Recent projects include a major project for Valley Park School, Maidstone. “We had to create a space for two new science classrooms under the existing structure,” said James. “We excavated a huge volume of Kent ragstone – a notoriously hard stone – and poured in around 300 tonnes of concrete to reinforce the foundations to ensure the structural integrity of the building.” Nova completed all works from the excavation through to final handover of the finished classrooms; much to the satisfaction of the staff and pupils alike.
In the commercial sector Nova Construction & Civil Engineering are currently working on a £6 million project at Chatham Docks, under the direction of K2 Consultancy. “We are assisting with the removal and maintenance of two caissons which is a massive civil engineering job – the last time they were removed was over 50 years ago,” said James.
Future plans include expansion into renewable energies and sustainable construction projects, ensuring the Nova name stays at the forefront of industry developments. For more information visit www.groupnova.co.uk
