Market leading certification body, Alcumus ISOQAR, is pleased to announce that it has been awarded Notified Body status to help the structural steel industry meet the requirements of the Construction Products Regulations.
Regulation (EU) No.305/2011, which comes into play on July 1st 2014 states that as of this date all respective steel products must comply with the European standard, BS EN 1090. Manufacturers will also need to prove product conformance through mandatory CE marking. After this date it will be a criminal offence to supply and trade structural metalwork on the European market unless it adheres to this standard and carries a legitimate CE mark.
Following stringent audits by UKAS, Alcumus ISOQAR is thrilled to announce confirmation of its newly awarded Notified Body status. Gaining Notified Body status demonstrates the company’s competence to make independent judgments about whether or not a product complies with the essential requirements laid down by each CE marking directive.
As a UKAS accredited certification body, Alcumus ISOQAR is already able to offer the structural steel industry assessment and certification to the quality management system standard, ISO 9001 which is a critical part of the CE Marking process. As a Notified Body, the company can now extend its offering to include Factory Production Control (FPC) certification to BS EN 1090 for structural metal products and ancillaries.
