Lancashire-based Frese, the world-leading manufacturer of energy saving valves, has been awarded work on an exciting development in London’s Olympic Park.
Frese supplied 480 of their Modula Compact valve sets complete with Metering Station and solder union couplings for the fan coil heating and cooling systems (HVAC) in the building. The use of the solder union couplings was to facilitate easy installation utilizing the fan coil unit tail pipes.
The pressure independent flow and temperature control valves ensure precise control in the heating and cooling system and can lead to up to a 50% saving on the energy a circulating pump consumes and also lead to a major reduction on energy bills for a building, as boilers and chillers work more efficiently.
Set on the fringe of Hackney Wick, Frese will work on the Here East Centre, a 1.2 million sq ft commercial space inside the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, home to the 2012 Games.
The Here East Centre was previously the Olympic Press and Broadcast Centre, home to the world’s media three years ago. It is being converted into a flexible business and education space and will include mezzanine floors, extended conference space and external alterations designed to help incubate digital start-ups and help the next generation of digital entrepreneurs and employees create and develop new technologies.
Researching and testing new technology means creating a comfortable atmosphere. That is where Frese comes in. The firm will supply a range of energy efficient valves for the heating and ventilation systems of the newly refurbished department, keeping running costs down and enabling full control of heating and air conditioning systems throughout Here East.
Frese UK managing director Stephen Hart said: “We are very pleased to be working on such an innovative and forward-thinking venue. Here East is a brilliant concept to help technology start-ups and it is great for us to help that vision come together.”
Frese was founded in Denmark in 1944 and opened its UK offices in Burscough, Lancashire, in 2004. It is a world leading manufacturer of pressure independent flow and temperature control valves for precise indoor climate control of energy efficient heating and cooling systems in residential, commercial and institutional buildings.
