Prior to the 2015 Rugby World Cup taking place, Cemplas Waterproofing and Concrete Repairs Ltd were called in by the RFU to inspect and survey the landings, and stairs to the external and internal areas of Twickenham stadium.

A Cemplas survey highlighted a number of defects to the landings and stair nosings
Cemplas, along with specialist manufacturer Degafloor, put together a specification and a number of onsite trials were undertaken by Cemplas resulting in a £250,000 order for the resin coating works, equating to around 18,000 steps and some 1000m2 of landings.

Following all preparation works to the 15 external staircases and stair nosings,
Cemplas operatives applied a resin coating system manufactured by Degafloor, to 15 external staircases which was broadcasted with quartz to provide a degree of slip deterrent, followed by a clear seal coat.

Once the works to the external staircases had been completed, Cemplas operatives moved inside to the internal seating area of the stadium undertaking works to the stair nosing’s of the lower, middle, and upper tiers,
