Specialist subcontractor blu-3 has appointed Jim Southworth as its new Managing Director.
Southworth’s appointment is a tour de force for blu-3, bringing more than 40 years’ international experience in utility operations across senior roles in companies from United Utilities International to North West Water and Consumers Utilities Canada Limited.
He has a diverse professional portfolio, acting as chairman of UK-based charity Integrated Water Resources International, owner of a renewable energy start-up company and regular speaker at international utility conferences. Southworth is a Chartered Civil Engineer and joins blu-3 from his own successful independent consulting company. He has been brought in to help guide the company through its growth trajectory and diversification of its services into wider fields.
Danny Chaney, blu-3 Executive Chairman, said: “Jim is an important appointment for blu-3 and we’re thrilled to welcome him on board. His outstanding reputation and experience will be great assets for us as we grow to become market leaders in the delivery of multi-utility solutions, civil engineering and data centre construction, and push our geographical boundaries across Europe.”
blu-3 is a leading civil engineering and multi utility solutions company based in Kent.
Southworth said: “blu-3 is going from strength to strength and I’m thrilled to join the company at this auspicious time. It’s a pleasure to lead such an innovative service provider which cares so deeply about the quality of its work and its employees’ wellbeing. Exciting things certainly lay ahead.”
