DCC APPOINTS HEAD OF PURCHASING TO GROWING TEAM

Direct Corporate Clothing (DCC) has appointed Helen Woodall as Head of Purchasing.

Birmingham-based DCC is one of the UK’s largest providers of workwear, corporatewear and personal protective equipment (PPE) with customers including Travis Perkins and Miller Homes.

Helen heads a purchasing team of 12 people, which manages the company’s extensive worldwide supply chain. She has wide-ranging experience as a buyer and product manager, including roles at Brammer Group and Buck & Hickman.

Helen said: “I’m excited to join the DCC team and look forward to working with our supply chain partners to enhance our processes and boost an already formidable customer service offer.

“I will also ensure that our suppliers and contract manufacturers continue to meet our strict quality control, ethical and environmental standards.”

DCC has also recruited Julian Kingswood as national account manager. He joins from Parker Merchanting, where he enjoyed a 16-year career in sales, graduating to the position of head of sales for local business. During this time, he managed a team of 16 account managers.

DCC supplies clothing to many of the UK’s biggest businesses. It recently secured major contracts with Balfour Beatty and Geo Amey and also supplies clothing to British Telecom and Mitie among many others.

Earlier this year, DCC acquired Leeds-based The Business Wear Company to create a business that has a combined turnover of around £36m.

Nick Atkinson, corporate and communications director of DCC, said: “We welcome Helen and Julian to the team at a time of rapid growth for DCC. Helen will manage a supply chain that serves to deliver service and quality excellence that sets us apart from our competitors. Julian will bring great account management experience and expertise to our already established account management team.”
