Smart-Space, one of the UK’s leading manufacturers and installers of temporary, semi-permanent and permanent buildings, has completed the construction of a fully-insulated, permanent workshop for Bolt Building Supplies at the builders and timber merchant’s headquarters in Halstead, Essex.
The 34.5-metre by 18.5-metre steel-fabricated structure with composite walls and 100mm roof cladding with skylights will be used for the production of I-beams, to help meet the growing demand for engineered flooring systems from construction companies in the South East of England.
“We’re bringing the design and production of I-beams on-site to help our customers with their new build projects throughout the region,” says Bolt’s managing director, Simon Burgess.
“Time was of the essence and the full design and build project took around 14 weeks from start to finish. We’re delighted with the time frame and the quality of the facility. The Smart-Space team was excellent and carried out the job without any adverse impact on the day-to-day activity of our very busy site.”
