Richardsons has an impressive portfolio of prestigious projects, with current schemes including residential projects in London, Worcestershire and the south coast. In London’s WC1 district, the work involved the construction of a first floor structure creating a bridge over the roadway between South Square and Grays Inn Square to link Grade 1 listed Grays Inn Hall with Grays Inn Square. The new extension provides a bar and social facilities for the Inn and also includes internal alterations to the basement kitchen and servery in the Hall. The project has significantly enhanced the facilities available to the members. In London’s SW1, the project involved extensive structural alterations and refurbishment of a Grade II listed building, combining two apartments on the second and third floors to form one ‘duplex’ apartment including a complete services installations, AV systems, high end internal finishes, furniture and fittings.
In contrast, in West Sussex, the work involved of the construction of a new single storey annexe to the south side of the existing church to include a meeting room, WC and kitchenette with associated drainage and external landscaping works and decorative furniture.
In addition, Richardsons has worked on all sizes and styles of private residence – from delightful period cottages with specialist flint work, to contemporary homes and large country houses. The company employs operatives skilled at working with a variety of materials such as marble, flint and stone, to mention but a few, with many of their tradesmen being accomplished in specific crafts.
On the commercial side, the range of work carried out is extensive and varied, from the refitting of offices and factories, both occupied and vacant, the refurbishment of a floating restaurant and public houses, to work on the electrical infrastructure for communication and data installation where the need to integrate with the ‘high tech’ needs of clients is paramount. The company has also handled many projects where their team has been working in sensitive environments, such as in healthcare where hygiene is crucial, or in the communication industry where security is vital, and a significant part of their business has been carried out in Government secure environments.
