Opening the Door to a Wide Range of Customers

Established in 1998 Scott Doors have gained a reputation for excellence, value and continuous commitment to customers. With a wealth of experience in the manufacture and installation of insulated and cold store doors, Scott Doors have become one of the industry leaders.

Joint Managing Director Kathryn Scott explains, “The Company was set up originally by my late father, Ken Scott along with Paul Barber (Joint MD) and myself. Today my brothers David and Stephen are also directors in the business. Collectively the team has over 50 years of experience.

Our workforce consists of time-served joiners and sheet metal workers who make specialist doors for a wide range of applications.

We trade nationally and internationally, indeed, we are this week, shipping some personnel doors out to the Falkland Islands.

We have many long-established customers, including small independent businesses, contractors and the UK’s leading construction companies; we also trade with end users such as large food processors and suppliers.

We are proud of the fact that a large amount of our work comes through repeat business and word of mouth recommendation. In addition our new website is now up and running and is increasing our customer base further.”

Scott Doors moved into new 10,000ft2 premises in Hyde in 2006 which have been designed to maximise production efficiency.

The company’s contract department offers a one-stop solution, from the initial site visit to determine exact requirements, through to the completion of a bespoke product.  Its highly experienced installation team can and does travel to sites anywhere in the UK. Using traditional and innovative techniques, they offer a wide range of hygienic solutions specialising in the design, manufacture and installation of quality doors for the food, pharmaceutical, healthcare and non-food industries.

The door range includes personnel, seamless and clean room doors, sliding doors, temperature controlled hinged doors, louvered doors and fire doors. They also supply roller shutter and high speed doors, flexible crash doors and strip curtains.

The company stocks a wide range of door accessories includes vision panels, door closers, panic bars and swipe cards. Preformed metal flashings and ancillary items including fixings and silicone are also available.

Kathryn says, “Scott Doors is registered in the Construction Industry Safe Contractors Scheme and the Construction Skills Certification Scheme. We are very proud of the quality of our workmanship and our service. However, it is not just new manufacture that we undertake. We also offer a full repair and maintenance service, not just on our doors but also those supplied by others. Our repair and maintenance department applies our rigorous standards to most door systems to keep intensive business operations running smoothly. With our exacting standards our clients receive the most appropriate solution for each situation; our whole-life costs better than any in the industry.”
