Keeping a Careful Eye on Proceedings

For many companies, maintaining security is a key priority. One Company that has been very successful in providing these services throughout the UK is Sitewatch Fire and Surveillance Limited.

Based in Halesowen in the West Midlands, the Company is a leading consultant, installer and maintainer of automated fire and security systems.

The current Managing Director, John Karvaski, started the Company in 2001. He had been working for a CCTV transmission manufacture and continuously received enquiries from many companies asking for help in providing assistance on CCTV systems. With the vast knowledge he gained from working for a Major National Electronic Security Company and the experience he gained whilst working for his present employer; he decided that he could provide a better service in both engineering and customer service than other companies in the CCTV field and, as they say, the rest is history!

Operations Director Gary Goodyer said, I joined Sitewatch after working 30 years for my previous employer in the electronic security industry. My reason for joining the Company was the massive engineering experience the training provided to the staff including the right tools to carry out their duties but my main reason was the company’s total focus on customer care which has provided us with repeat business from a variety of clients, including large blue chip companies, hospitals, schools, and councils.

“We have carried out a lot of work for the Co-op at their distribution sites around the UK. The Co-op has a series of strategically located distribution sites around the country. In 2009, we completed the installation at Birtley, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Motherwell in 2010/11 and Andover this year.

All contracts have been awarded through tender processes from Main Contractors.

The systems installed provide complete perimeter protection including automated gates, barriers, CCTV, access control, and Fire protection.

The systems are fully monitored 24 hours a day 365 days a year to a remote monitoring station. The CCTV incorporates Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) and allows access if the number plate is recognised as legitimate but unrecognised entry will be prohibited unless authorised by the remote monitoring station.

We are working at the former automotive site at Longbridge in Birmingham, owned by St Modwen Developments where they are regenerating the area including shops, houses and are building the new Bourneville College. This is a project that will continue for a number of years and Sitewatch have been providing CCTV for areas of the new development.

When Benham BMW Motors in Wolverhampton built their new Showroom, Sitewatch were successful in winning the business and provided total site security, including CCTV, access control intruder and Fire systems. Both the CCTV and access control systems used IP technology utilising the customers own network. Working closely with Paxton this was one of the first IP systems that was installed with Paxton equipment. The building has total internal and perimeter protection being remotely monitored by a local NSI Gold monitoring station.

The protection was extended to the clients other two buildings – Motorad motorbike showroom and the BMW Mini showroom.

Back to Gary, “Today, we have 38 full time employees with the majority of all of us having been in the industry for many years; in fact we have over 200 years of experience within the Sales and Management. All Sales and Management are all from an engineering background but our core focus is upon providing the customer with exactly what they need and backing this with a professional customer care service and quality installations. This is paramount to everyone in the Company.”
