Bardon Extend for Low Shrinkage Flooring

Bardon Concrete has launched Bardon ExtendTM, a range of bespoke low shrinkage concrete solutions for flooring applications. Providing contractors with a method of tackling construction movement through concrete shrinkage, Bardon ExtendTM specialist mixes minimise the occurrence of curling and reduce the need for additional reinforcement against cracks.

With lower permeability and higher compressive strengths, Bardon ExtendTM is particularly suited to industrial applications as it offers extended life through enhanced resistance to chemical attack and abrasion.

Peter Hardman, Director of Bardon Concrete, part of Aggregate Industries UK, commented: “Bardon ExtendTM mixes will perform especially well in heavy duty flooring constructions as they increase the distance required between jointing – a known area for maintenance issues within concrete floors.

Enabling structural designers to cast larger thinner flooring panels and reduce the need for extra joints is achieved through the high strength design and results in an overall reduction in maintenance costs.”
The Bardon ExtendTM range of concretes can be adapted to meet a project’s individual structural requirements, and has been subjected to rigorous long term movement testing. The range can be placed using all standard equipment and techniques and compacted using most forms of equipment including modern floor laying machines.
