InstallerLive Has it All!

Gaining hands on experience of the latest renewable technologies is a must for installers and this Year’s InstallerLive (NEC, Birmingham, 16-19 October 2011) will be packed full of interactive demo areas where installers can do just that.

The industry’s biggest brands will also be showcasing their latest product innovations, making it a show no installer can afford to miss.

The shows official event partner, The National Skills Academy For Environmental Technologies is sponsoring the ‘Eco Challenge’. A new feature allowing visitors to test their skills against others in an exciting, timed competition focused on installing renewable technologies. The aim of the Eco Challenge is to raise awareness of the skills that will be required to fit renewable technologies in the light of current and future Government initiatives, such as the Green Deal, Feed in Tariffs and the Renewable Heat Incentive. Winners on each day will receive £100, £200 and £300 training vouchers to be used for environmental technology training through the National Skills Academy.
The InstallerLive Educational Programme will provide unrivalled, practical education with more than 70 FREE sessions. Featuring content approved by an Advisory Panel, including the APHC, HETAS, EON and the HHIC and chaired by executive director of SummitSkills and interim director of the Skills Academy, Dr Cathryn Hickey, these sessions will take place in four education areas – the Green Deal Station, the Heating and Cooling Skills Station, the Plumb and Electro Skills Station and the Eco Challenge.

Highlights in the InstallerLive Education programme include:
• A daily headline Green Deal presentation delivered by a senior DECC official
• Nigel Hollett, the Head of Environmental Technologies at SummitSkills speaking on Certification and Qualifications Installers Can Trust
• Bill Brady, Electrotechnical Specialist at EAL advising on ‘What training you need to become a green installer’

It’s not going to be all work and no play at InstallerLive. Visitors will also have the chance to take a Half-Time Break and join the daily debate with football pundits Dave Bassett, Pat Murphy, Steve Claridge and Gary Newbon. The feature will take place in the Ideal Heating-sponsored Showbar for one hour, beginning at 1pm every day of the show. Each host will kick off the session with a 20 minute talk, covering current football issues. Then, the floor will be open for installers to have their say in forty minutes of Q&A, where the questions will be entirely the audience’s choice.

Major brands exhibiting at InstallerLive include Anton Industrial Services, Baxi, Calor, Glen Dimplex, Heatrae Sadia, Horstmann, Ideal Heating, MAIN, NICEIC, Remeha, Polypipe, Renault, Salus Controls, Stelrad, Viessmann and Vokera. A full exhibitor list is available online.
