Opening the Door to a New Kitchen

Building Accessories Supplies is a family run business established in 1981 and incorporated to ATO Industries Ltd in 2003.

The business originally was a trade only supplier specialising in supplying building companies and local authorities with all types of ironmongery and hardware. It is celebrating its 30th birthday this year.

In 1989 B.A.S. moved into its present premises and also started to deal direct with the general public. They still supply many house builders, local health authorities, councils, schools and a wide variety of businesses with ironmongery, hardware, power tools, kitchens and bathrooms. They have used the experience of many years in business to select quality goods at reasonable prices, which is a requirement for supplying trade customers and have gained a reputation of supplying quality goods and service that is second to none.

Geoff Bolam, manager for BAS said, “I joined the company in 1994 and while we had the whole of our present unit, we had sublet some of it to other users. In 1995, we decided that we would move into complete and bespoke kitchens and took over the whole of the building and now offer a comprehensive product range.

We pride ourselves on the service that we offer. We only work with quality products, which we source from quality suppliers and we now have two online shops – The Handle Shop, The Kitchen Door Shop and our own website The Ultimate Studio.”

The Handle Shop offers a wide range of ironmongery, including door handles, locks etc to both the trade and to the DIY market. The Kitchen Door Shop offers an incredibly large range of kitchen unit doors with currently around 250 different doors on offer in a variety of different vinyls and woods, including tulipwood and ash.

Ultimate Studios has been set up to provide customers with both standard and bespoke kitchens. Geoff says, “We can offer anything from a few hundred pounds worth of replacement doors through to a complete, purpose-designed bespoke kitchen. Because of the links that we have with our suppliers, we can bring together what is probably one of the largest ranges of options available anywhere in the country. We also pride ourselves on the service that we offer. A few years ago, I went on a Saturday morning from Barrow to Leeds to collect a toilet seat for a customer; he then ordered a complete kitchen from us the next year and has since sent a lot of new customers in due to the high level of service we provide. This is typical of much of the work that we get through referral. We are members of the KBSA, the Kitchen Bathroom Specialist Association as well as being Members of the Government’s TRUST scheme.”
