IT on the Crest of a Wave

Established in 2006 by Michael Branford, Crest IT Solutions’ aim was to offer real value for money, encompassing quality IT support services to Yorkshire-based SME businesses.

Now, after establishing itself as one of the leading IT support partners for SME’s in the Yorkshire region, it has recently opened its second office over the Pennines in Lancashire.

Michael Branford, managing director at Crest IT Solutions said: “We are delighted to have opened our Lancashire office as this will help us continue our growth and provide a better service to customers in this area. The new office is just a short hop along the M62 in Oldham, and provides an ideal location to help support in areas such as Oldham, Rochdale, Bolton and Bury.

“While technology allows us to do many things without leaving our office, lots of customers also prefer to deal with us face-to-face. Having a local, accessible IT company is often important. Customers may want us to add a new PC or printer, upgrade the company’s accounts package or install a brand new network”.

This isn’t to say the new Lancashire office is the only thing to have changed recently at Crest IT Solutions. Last year the company launched its SupportIT service, which provides businesses with a flexible support service.

“SupportIT is ideal for SME’s, as it is designed to be flexible. There are no long tie-ins, just rolling 90-day easy-in easy-out contracts, with packages that offer unlimited remote and onsite support within the monthly price.” said Michael Branford. “We also have a SupportIT Lite package, which also provides unlimited telephone/remote support – with onsite support also available too”.

The key here, says Michael, is flexibility. “No two businesses are exactly the same, and Crest’s customers come from all sectors, from bridal boutiques to business centres, from accountants to scrap metal dealers. Our organisation was set up with a very specific vision – to enable business owners to concentrate on managing their business rather than worrying about their IT – and SupportIT allows them to do just that.”

The latest offering from Crest IT is data encryption, which helps companies protect sensitive or personal data. Crest can offer businesses that need to store sensitive data on a number of laptops an encryption solution that can be managed from a central server. For single laptop users this is also available using a cloud based subscription service.
“Over the last few months there have been lots of news stories covering lost personal data and this loss of data could have been prevented using encryption,” said Michael Branford.
