With over 100 years of experience and continuous investment in the resin flooring and industrial flooring industry, John Lord Flooring is renowned for offering the best quality resin flooring products and the highest levels of customer service. John Lord offers a competitive flooring installation service throughout the UK, mainland Europe and beyond.
The company manufactures and installs a variety of high performance resin flooring systems, including epoxy, polyurethane and methyl-methacrylate as well as polymer screeding and Vibrogard industrial tiling. This has lead to sustained growth throughout the company’s trading history and to an extensive portfolio of prestigious blue-chip clients such as Warburtons Ltd, GlaxoSmithKline, Premier Foods, H.J Heinz, the Ministry of Defence and many more.
The company prides itself on its quality of product and service. It is accredited to ISO 9001:2000, it is a Member of FeRFA, the Resin Flooring Association and works n accordance with the FeRFA Guidelines and the British Standard BS 8024-6 for resin flooring. In 2009, John Lord received accreditation from SAFE Contractor, is a Member of RIBA Enterprise as well as a Member of NBS Plus.
Looking now at some of John Lord’s recent installations, it has supplied Warburtons Ltd, the national bakers, with specialist resin flooring, ceramic floor tiling and drainage and protection systems since 1992. As Warburtons have grown and expanded their business throughout the UK, John Lord has been involved in the construction or refurbishment of 14 bakeries to date, including their original Bolton site and Europe’s largest bakery at Tuscany Park.
Another key contract in the food industry has been with Cranswick Plc. Over recent years, the company has been involved in a number of projects for this forward-thinking company, such as their Gourmet Sausage plant in Hull, and their Speciality Bacon Products facility in West Yorkshire. During such projects, the project management team at Cranswick control the programme from start to finish, choosing and appointing companies that have a tradition for strong and committed leadership of their work, which negates the need for outside project management or main contracting sourcing.
John Lord’s project requirements have included the supply and installation of top quality, high performance resin flooring systems and associated bespoke stainless steel drainage systems. Often the projects have involved working to strict deadlines and in close liaison with other trades. Despite these constraints, the company’s experience of working on in-situ projects within the food industry has proved invaluable to the client.
Finally, although not in the food industry but nevertheless illustrating the versatility, quality and expertise provided by John Lord Flooring is the work done for the RAF. Last Year John Lord was involved in two projects for the R.A.F, one at R.A.F Alconbury and the other at R.A.F Coningsby. R.A.F Coningsby involved an exciting project with the MOD to create a new state of the art Typhoon Maintenance Facility at R.A.F Coningsby, Lincolnshire.
The project costing £18m, was the result of seven years of planning labour and building work began in May 2008 lead by Clark Construction. Stretching 36m along the tarmac, the ten-bay Maintenance Facility, which now houses the Eurofighter Typhoon, covers 10,700m2 and needs 207 people to operate it at full capacity. The flooring requirements within this facility included the installation of a heavy-duty and long lasting floor finish, which would provide a safe working surface in wet and dry conditions.
