R Bensons Property Maintenance strives to provide its clients with enhanced levels of customer satisfaction, superior quality workmanship, aggressive scheduling and competitive pricing.
Its success is measured by team performance, client responsiveness, strategic growth, exceptional quality and consistent results, all of which enable the company to continue building an unmatched reputation for excellence.
First opening its doors for business in 1991 and currently celebrating its 20th anniversary, R Benson is a privately owned multi-trade contractor operating throughout the South East and Greater London areas, carrying out projects in a wide range of disciplines, including decent homes refurbishment schemes; general refurbishment; commercial fit-out; reactive maintenance and voids; traditional construction; schools; retail; and MOD works.
Offering a range of reliable and highly skilled repair and maintenance services, with a labour force in excess of 150 and with the addition of specialist contractors, the company is well-equipped and resourced to carry out a range of projects, from small individual refurbishments through to large multi-million pound decent homes planned and reactive programmes.
Projects include a £4.5 million decent homes, voids and reactive maintenance job which, carried out between 2007 and 2011, was undertaken for Arun District Council. Here, the company successfully delivered over 1,200 property refurbishments, whilst providing full responsive maintenance cover and void property refits. R Bensons also provided a tenant liaison service and collected KPI data, reporting back to the client and achieving consistently high scores.
Other projects include Camden Homes in Central London, with all the challenges that this location can bring in terms of access and storage for the site set up, incorporating the delivery of over 500 internal refits, varying between tower blocks and street properties. The team has now moved on to the external works which consist of full roof replacement, window and render repairs, as well as external decorations.
R Bensons was also instructed by the Royal Household to carry out works to the Grade 1 listed buildings at Broadlands Estate in Romsey. The work consisted of sympathetic alterations and adaptations to the main house and outbuildings, including brick and material matching for the existing environment.
A new large scale brick boiler house was constructed with lifting hatches to facilitate a bio-mass boiler, with subsequent connection of the service to the main house. The system is designed to be self sufficient obtaining its fuel from the park area within the grounds, and may be considered as a demonstration project.
Whatever the challenge, R Bensons has considerable expertise and experience in providing cyclical, planned building maintenance, void property works and responsive repair and maintenance services for a broad portfolio of clients, including many local authorities and housing associations.
Employing a very structured approach, the company allocates full site and project management for every project undertaken, calculating resource requirements against the programmed major elements and targeted deadlines to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity.
