Nothing temporary about 4m Portable success story

During the past 20 years, 4m Portable Buildings have become a familiar presence on construction sites, school and sports grounds, office and hospital complexes, in fact anywhere a well-built, moveable structure is needed.

Established in 1992 4m Portable has witnessed many changes and developments in the construction of portable buildings but it has never lost sight of its core aim to build high quality structures to customer’s requirements. And it is this commitment to customer service that is helping 4m to weather the current recession.

“We have got a good product and clients keep coming back to us,” says Dave Morris, Joint MD. “We bend over backwards to meet their needs and in turn they remain loyal to us. Because we are a smaller, more bespoke operation we manage better during bad times than the larger mass production portable manufacturers do as we can scale production up or down to meet demand immediately.”
The firm has produced many unusual and demanding building for clients down the years, but Dave Morris is particularly proud of a 70ft long office, which he believes to be the biggest one-piece moveable structure ever built.

“We’ve built plenty of 60ft long cabins, but this was a huge challenge. We could have ended up with egg on our face, for instance if the structure bent in the middle, but we like to tread new ground and our craftsmen rose to the occasion to produce an amazing structure.”
