Recent years have seen a revolution in energy generation and distribution. Renewable heat from Biomass, Anaerobic Digestion, Ground Source Heat Pumps, Energy from Waste and Goethermal – all provide a long-term payback and help towards achieving carbon reduction targets.
Where biomass fuel is available, either as wood, energy crops or animal waste, the possibility exists to generate carbon-neutral energy with heat as the primary or secondary output. Pre-insulated pipes can be used to transport this heat to a single building, multiple dwellings or to agricultural production buildings.
Planners, architects, engineers and developers have come to realize the long-term cost advantages which can be achieved by using efficient generation of heat or chilled water and distributing it to a number of dwellings and buildings.
Essential to the success of these developments is a cost-effective, long-life, underground pipe distribution system with low heat loss. PIPE200 offer several ranges of pre-insulated pipe for heating, cooling, domestic hot water or sanitary applications.
CALPEX is the great all-rounder for LTHW applications with long coil lengths, excellent insulation properties, professional jointing systems and house entry bends where required. Operating temperatures up to 95°C and 6 bar make it suitable for the majority of biomass applications.
For MTHW up to 130° and 16 bar, CASAFLEX uses a stainless steel carrier pipe but is still flexible and available in long coil lengths.
