When the Car Park ramps and driving aisles servicing the various office buildings within the Mount Ephraim complex were showing signs of distress, Cemplas Waterproofing and Concrete Repairs Ltd who have a well equipped and trained workforce, were appointed by the MCL Group to provide a solution, from the initial survey through to the effective installation of a system backed up by a 10 year guarantee.
Following a full survey by Cemplas, the existing surface coating which had been originally been applied in the 1990’s was removed by using a ride on planning machine. After full removal of the coatings, the Car Park and aisles concrete substrate was prepared by captive blasting.
Once the substrate had been fully prepared, all concrete was hammer tested to determine any defective areas which were repaired using Sika Rapid Repair Mortar.
On completion of all repairs, approx 400 M2 of the Car Park decks and driving aisles were coated using Sika Floor Pronto Car Park coating system.
In addition to the resurfacing and repair works, existing expansion joints were reinforced, and Hazard warning coatings were applied to all curbs.
