The Acton Group, incorporating Acton Construction & Civils and Acton Drainage, has announced its intention to expand its drainage solutions, reactive maintenance, jetting and sweeping business. The Preston, Lancashire based company will also extend its range of services to include rainwater attenuation and harvesting.
As part of the diversification Acton has instigated a five-year training plan for staff and general operatives and will invest in new plant and equipment as the order book expands.
Managing Director, Phil Donaghy, explains the rationale behind the new strategy:
“We recognise that our in-house skills can be used to meet the growing demand for the drainage business. Acton Drainage can offer a full CCTV, drain jetting, drainage installation, drain repair and road sweeping under one roof, services which would normally be undertaken by a number of different companies.
“We are winning repeat business from blue chip clients and want to build on our reputation for offering a competitive, reliable, safe and environmentally friendly service.”
An existing Homeserve approved contractor, Acton Drainage is a leading drainage specialist, providing reactive emergency breakdown maintenance as well as planned and estimated works.
Acton will also use its complementary skills in the environmental areas of rainwater attenuation and harvesting and has formed a working relationship with Tubosider UK from St Helens, with the objective of providing a full design, supply and installation service.
The company’s Construction & Civils section is a major player across the Northwest in quality heavy industrial and commercial building and highways contracts, with a property development arm delivering residential new build and refurbishment projects.
