Kidderminster solar energy specialist Eco2Solar is flying the flag for the West Midlands after being named National SME Construction Company of the year at The National Constructing Excellence Awards 2012.
It comes after the firm, based at Hoo Farm Industrial Estate, was named a regional winner in the West Midlands Constructing Excellence Awards in July this year, taking them forward to the national UK finals.
Eco2Solar beat off tough competition as one of nine UK regional finalists to win the industry’s most prestigious accolade at the national finals in London on Friday (30 November).
Organised by Constructing Excellence, the influential award recognises the firm’s continued developments, rapid growth and best practice in providing solar photovoltaic, solar thermal and heat pump system installations for a broad range of commercial, social and domestic clients throughout the West Midlands and UK wide.
Managing Director of Eco2Solar Paul Hutchens, said: “We are absolutely delighted to fly the flag for the region at this year’s national awards. To be acknowledged for our services and growth in the West Midlands was already a tremendous achievement for us, but to be recognised on a national level is really the icing on the cake and it’s a real vote of confidence in what we do.
“Despite the challenging economic climate, we have continued to work hard and remain at the forefront of our industry and this award is a fantastic testament.”
Other national winners from the West Midlands include Gary Summers, Managing Director of Southam based Alumet Systems (UK) Ltd awarded ‘Construction’s Achiever of the Year’ and McPhillips (Wellington) Ltd awarded ‘Project of the Year’.
Roy Casey, management board member for Constructing Excellence and West Midlands Centre for Constructing Excellence (WMCCE), said: “All three winners from the West Midlands are setting examples of best practice that have been voted as ‘best of the best’ nationally and it is terrific to have our region’s construction industry leading the way despite the challenges within the sector at present.”
