MAKING IT HAPPEN

Liverpool Housing Trust (LHT) celebrated the success of its local residents at its first ever tenant awards evening held at Liverpool Hope University on 11 April.

Hosted by local actress and comedian Pauline Daniels, and supported by a range of sponsors, the ‘Making It Happen’ awards saw tenants, community groups and contractors recognised for the difference they make both for themselves and their communities.

The LHT Environmental Champion, sponsored by Armstrong York, went to South Liverpool resident Alan Brown, from Picton, who worked with LHT’s Jigsaw Neighbourhood Solutions team to improve waste ground which had become an eyesore. Alan spoke of the “natural pride you have in an area which you have grown up in” and thanked LHT’s Jigsaw team and Liverpool City Council, as well as everyone who supported this project.

Speaking after the event Daniel Holloway of Armstrong York said, “We were delighted to support our client Liverpool Housing Trust in their residents awards scheme and Alan Brown, our first resident Environmental Champion, was a worthy winner, and we congratulate him and LHT’s Jigsaw Neighbourhood Solutions team in transforming what was unsightly waste ground into an environmentally safe area of the neighbourhood.”
