Trusses to the Gate

Midlands-based truss and metal web business, Scotts Timber Engineering, is pleased to have completed its supply of joists and rafters to the St Nicholas Developments Edgbaston Gate project.

Scotts Timber Engineering is a new sister company to Scotts of Thrapston and was established to extend Scotts’ reach to service the contractors, builders and developers operating along the M40 corridor, M42 and M5.

Richard Evans heads up the Scotts Timber Engineering business. “We were very pleased to have been instructed to supply metal web engineered joists (easi-joist), trussed rafters and attic trusses for room in the roof to Edgbaston Gate. As the project unfolded we were called upon to adapt designs to meet various changes made to the initial layout. It was a fantastic project to be part of,” said Richard.

St Nicholas Developments Ltd was established in 2001 and has achieved an excellent reputation for building aspirational homes in Warwickshire and the West Midlands. Edgbaston Gate is situated five minutes from the city centre, comprising 12 new semi-detached homes. Barry Blackman is the company’s Managing Director. Commenting, he said: “As a developer we place a great deal of importance on a supplier’s ability to be flexible in its approach to the specific developments of a site. Competitive pricing is of course important, but so is a supplier’s commitment to good service. We opt for trusted partners and having worked with Richard Evans on projects since 1994, we value his commitment to service and felt very confident to follow him into his new venture with Scotts Timber Engineering. The whole team, including those at the Scotts of Thrapston HQ were very professional and contributed to the smooth running of the Edgbaston Gate project.”
