Richardsons (Nyewood) Limited are proud to have a continuing Apprenticeship programme which has been run for over 20 years. Established in 1965 Richardsons (Nyewood) Limited has grown into a major national construction company. Historical projects completed have ranged from a small extension to a country mansion. No job too big or small, from as far as Manchester to Lands End. The services offered have also grown, from complete project management and design through to the construction and refurbishment of both large and small commissions.
Richardsons (Nyewood) Limited pride themselves on the high calibre of craftsmanship employing highly qualified and experienced tradesmen, as well as giving young people the opportunity and experience of these tradesmen/craftsmen during their apprenticeships.
Every project has the sole dedication of the core team assigned to it, from Bill Richardson, Managing Director, and management staff to their individual tradesmen. Richardsons (Nyewood) Limited’s goal is to work with their clients every step of the way ensuring that the projects are managed efficiently and delivered on time and to budget.
Two outstanding examples of our apprentices are Danny Kenyon, bricklayer, and Darren Anthony, carpenter, pictured below.
Danny has just completed a 2 year Bricklaying Apprenticeship and won Apprentice of The Year in 2010. Darren is currently in his second year of a Carpentry Apprenticeship and won the Shield Of Endeavour in 2010. He has been chosen to represent his trade at the Skill Build competition. Construction Skills co-ordinate the Apprenticeship scheme and run the Skill Build competition. The first heat is regional and the winners go to London for the national heats and those winners proceed to Europe in 2013 and Richardsons (Nyewood) Limited will support Darren every step of the way.
Richardsons (Nyewood) Limited work closely with Construction Skills ensuring all Apprentices are reaching their full potential. Many of Richardsons (Nyewood) Limited’s Apprentices decide to go further which is encouraged greatly and at present one employee, who previously completed his three year Carpentry Apprenticeship, is back at college and studying towards a
Bsc Hons Degree in Building Surveying.
Another employee who completed a two year Bricklaying Apprenticeship is now wanting to progress into Site Management. Richardsons (Nyewood) Limited also have members of staff who are undertaking a Construction Technicians Course and a Plumbing Apprenticeship.
