Consistent, high quality of product and service has helped one of Europe’s largest single ply roofing membrane manufacturers win a massive order for new Amazon fulfilment centres.
Protan is supplying over 315000m2 in total of its SE membrane to create insulated roofs on three new logistics depots, each 181m x 529m, in Poland, for the global online retailer.
The build timeframe allows only six weeks for each roof to be constructed, itself creating a logistical issue: delivery of almost 157.5tonnes of Protan SE membrane per site to site, manoeuvred onto the roof and then across its 0.5km width, mechanically fixed onto the roof structure of steel deck, vapour control barrier and insulation, and detailing round roofights, parapets etc executed.

We are combining standard roll sizes to enable the roofers to execute the project with the most efficient use of material and labour, whilst integrating with the on-site logistics of handling and processing such large quantities of building materials.”
The warehouses , one in Poznan and two in Wroclaw, have been commissioned by property groups Panattoni and Goodmans, for lease to Amazon, and are the first of their kind, and for Amazon, in Poland. They will enable Amazon will consolidate and expand its European operations.
