There’s No Substitute For Quality

A symbol of quality for 21 years, South Wales-based Macrolux (UK) Limited imports and distributes the MacroluxTM brand of structured polycarbonate sheet throughout the UK.

The premier choice for those who can’t afford to compromise when it comes to quality and reliability, Macrolux became a well established and trusted brand during the 1990s, exceeding clients’ highest expectations whilst introducing many new and innovative products into the marketplace.

The Macrolux range of polycarbonate sheeting provides excellent features and benefits that are suitable for a variety of glazing applications, including home improvement (for easy do-it-yourself projects like window replacements, shower enclosures, hobby green-houses, partitions, light covers, patio covers, carports and more); horticultural (for greenhouse coverings where good thermal insulation is necessary together with high light transmission); architectural glazing (with the ability to be cold-formed into arches, Macrolux® offers architects design freedom that is not possible with other glazings. Consider the possibilities of using Macrolux® for walkways, indoor shopping centres, swimming pool coverings, skylights, and other space enclosures); industrial building (for various glazing applications, skylights, walkways, windows, shelters, and insulated roofing).

High thermal insulation, superb light transmission and durability, together with a favourable specific weight to mechanical properties ratio, enable all Macrolux polycarbonate sheets to be approximately 200 times the impact strength of glass. The current range includes:

• ‘M’, ‘X’ and Five Wall Structure (energy saving high performance sheets)

• Long-Life (high performance sheet with a co-extruded UV layer)

• Bronze-Opal (a two in one sheet designed specifically for conservatory shading)

• Athermic Heatshield (reduces solar energy transmission and heat build up)

And to offer an ever better service, Polytec was set up as a subsidiary in 1998 to fabricate the full range of polycarbonate sheet sizes in all thicknesses, and colours, including all shaped cutting for quick and easy installation into a roof. Polytec also offer a full range of glazing bar systems and accessories to complement the Macrolux sheet range. Macrolux has also recently set up a new Polymer Division supplying polycarbonate compounds predominantly to the injection moulding industry.

Macrolux is fully aware of its environmental responsibility too, and is committed to protecting the earth for future generations. With this in mind, the company offers its customers a ‘nationwide polycarbonate off-cut collection service’. Collapsible cages for the collection and storage of off-cuts is provided as part of the service. With collection points throughout the UK, Macrolux will collect your excess waste or off-cuts from your polycarbonate sheeting and re-cycle it in its state-of-the-art reprocessing plant.
