Mastervolt opens new test lab and receives ISO 9001 certification

The Dutch inverter manufacturer Mastervolt continues on its quest for quality excellence. The company’s process management system was recently certified according to ISO 9001. Mastervolt also invested into a sophisticated new test laboratory suitable for photovoltaic inverters of up to 50kW. The new lab also contains facilities to test off-grid power supply systems and diesel gensets for yachts from Mastervolt’s Marine product range.

AKW GROUP INVESTS IN A RECYCLED MODULAR BUILDING FROM FOREMANS FOR ITS NEW HEADQUARTERS

Green Deal – what’s on the cards?

The Green Deal aims to transform the energy efficiency of 14m draughty homes, cutting carbon and bills. But the cold wind of doubt remains strong.

Last month, the launch of the government’s Green Deal was described as the biggest national improvement programme since the Second World War. The Department of Energy and Climate Changes says the scheme will cost around £17.3bn over ten years and bring £25.6bn of benefits. The ECO (mandatory fuel poverty action) alone is expected to prevent the emission of 27.8 mega tonnes of carbon dioxide over two years.

Reducing Red Tape

Many of us have heard the oft used term reducing red tape, health and safety has often been the whipping boy.

Yes there are numerous cases of silly decisions taken by overzealous and under qualified practioners, but don’t think for one moment the requirements of the Construction Design & Management Regulations (CDM) 2007 will be relaxed. Too many Unions and old style principled politicians have fought too hard to reduce deaths and injuries in the Construction Industry. You simply cannot put construction in the same terms as the office or school; you play with huge machines not conkers.
