AFI Gains SafeHire Certification

AFI has been awarded the prestigious SafeHire certification quality mark, which is operated by Hire Association Europe (HAE) for the hire and rental industry.

To achieve the certification, AFI underwent a series of rigorous inspections to confirm that its operations meet stringent safety and quality criteria. The audit covered aspects such as health, safety and welfare, environmental and quality management, training, and financial controls.

Frese set to work on Olympic Park creative hub

Lancashire-based Frese, the world-leading manufacturer of energy saving valves, has been awarded work on an exciting development in London’s Olympic Park.

Frese supplied 480 of their Modula Compact valve sets complete with Metering Station and solder union couplings for the fan coil heating and cooling systems (HVAC) in the building. The use of the solder union couplings was to facilitate easy installation utilizing the fan coil unit tail pipes.

PORTAKABIN GROUP PROVIDES EMERGENCY RESPONSE FOR TESCO EXPRESS AND STORE OPENS JUST 4 WEEKS AFTER ITS ARRIVAL ON SITE

Just weeks after a severe fire destroyed the Tesco Express store in Heywood, Greater Manchester, the Portakabin Group had constructed a new store in its place which is now open and serving customers.

The emergency response project involved the use of a Yorkon off-site solution which allowed the rapid construction of a new Tesco Express store. The building was installed on site in just one day and opened less than four weeks later, despite challenging ground conditions on the petrol filling station site.

IKO’s Appley Bridge achieves ISO 14001

IKO PLC has achieved the environmental standard ISO 14001 for its bituminous and liquid membranes factory based in Wigan, Appley Bridge.

With Appley Bridge achieving ISO 14001, all three of IKO’s factories now comply with environmental standards. Its Clay Cross plant in Chesterfield and site at Grangemill Quarry have both achieved the accreditation.

Excellent visibility even with bulky loads

BSRIA principal research engineer appointed judge for HVR awards 2015

BSRIA Principal Research Engineer Dr Arnold Teekaram has been appointed a judge for the HVR Awards 2015.

The judging panel is made up of the leading figures from the building services industry. The judges will draw up a shortlist for each category and the winners will be announced at the prestigious awards ceremony on Thursday 15th October.
