A new extra care housing development has adopted market leading Weholite technology to help safeguard vulnerable residents from the risk of flooding.
Asset International Ltd (Asset), manufacturer of high density polyethylene pipe (HDPE), has been commissioned by sub-contractor, Seddon Construction, to provide a Weholite Storm Water Attenuation Tank, to manage excess water and prevent flooding at the £2.85m Sorogold Street project in St Helens.
Dixon Jones Wins the Prestigious Building Project of the Year Award 2012
Dixon Jones Ltd has won the prestigious ‘UK Building Magazine Project of the Year Award, 2012’ with the redeveloped Grade 2 Listed Regent Palace Hotel. The redevelopment of the hotel retains the finest elements of the existing building as well as introducing new facades. The three streets surrounding the hotel include retail and mixed use units to reinvigorate the Quadrant which is now a prime area of Regent Street for the Crown Estate.

Specialist contractor Cemplas Waterproofing and Concrete Repairs Ltd were asked by the Southern Housing Group Ltd to survey an external staircase to a residential block of flats they managed in Swindon. Cemplas reported that the condition and detailing of the asphalt was defective and allowing water ingress, and in addition to the poor cosmetic appearance it was felt the surface would become unsafe when wet as the asphalt did not afford any slip deterrent properties. Cemplas surveyors proposed the application of a fast cure waterproof coating incorporating an aggregate which was approved, and the order was given for Cemplas to proceed with the works.
